Granite pre-fabricated blanks are 108" x 26" (this is a standard 9' kitchen countertop piece, also comes in 8' lengths).  They are 2 cm in thickness.  The pieces have a double bullnose front/side edge (we carry inventory of both left and right-finished edges).  This means that there is a small laminate edge buildup on the edges, making the granite look 4 cm thick.  These edges are epoxied together tightly for strength, using matching colored epoxy.  Slabs are typically cut in 2 cm or 3 cm thicknesses for countertops, depending on specifications.

These pre-fabricated granite blanks are perfect for YOUR installation because they come pre-finished on all edges, and these can be cut to YOUR specifications quickly and easily in our shop.  This allows us to reduce fabrication time vastly.  Many might think that 3 cm countertops are better...and since you pay top dollar for 3 cm, they better be!  If you are looking for a more affordable granite countertop surface, 2 cm is for you.  Granite is granite, once installed it doesn't matter if it's 2 cm or 3 cm thick, it will look great either way!  Plus, 2 cm with the laminated edge is actually 4 cm, making it look thicker, stronger....and better.
